Kodanad View Point is a small village, which is approximately 18 km to the east of Kotagiri. It lies on the eastern edges of the Nilgiri hills and boasts of green tea estates. Tourists can visit the Rangaswamy peak, for which, frequent bus services are available from Kodanad.

The river Moyar and the point where the Western and Eastern Ghats meet can be seen from this view point. Situated opposite to the Mysore plateau, visitors can also see the Bhavanisagar dam and Thengumarahada from Kodanad View Point. Thengumarahada is a farming cooperative land which is spread over 50 acres of land along the banks of Moyar River.

Tourists can visit this place during the day, having bright sun light so as to clearly view the surroundings. Moreover, there is also a telescope installed at this place that can be used for seeing distinct places. Furthermore, Kodanad View Point is the best destination for trekking as it offers several trekking routes, including the Moyar gorge, which is situated between the Nilgiri and Deccan Plateaus.
